DC Comics

DC Comics is one of the largest and oldest American comic book publishers, founded in 1934 as National Allied Publications before later becoming Detective Comics, Inc., and ultimately DC Comics. It is now a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery. DC Comics is renowned for introducing some of the most iconic superheroes and villains in comic book history, playing a pivotal role in popularizing the superhero genre. DC's vast universe includes legendary characters such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and the Martian Manhunter, as well as teams like the Justice League, the Teen Titans, and the Suicide Squad. 

Under the editorial direction of pioneers such as Julius Schwartz, and with contributions from legendary writers and artists like Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, Bob Kane, Bill Finger, Gardner Fox, George Pérez, and Neal Adams, DC Comics has produced some of the most celebrated stories in the comic book medium.
DC has also been at the forefront of graphic storytelling innovation, with groundbreaking series such as "Watchmen" by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, and "The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller, both of which have had a profound impact on how comics are perceived and appreciated. 

Vertigo Comics was an imprint of DC Comics, launched in 1993, that specialized in publishing mature and unconventional narratives distinct from the mainstream superhero genre. It became renowned for its graphic novels and series that pushed the boundaries of comic book storytelling, exploring complex themes and darker content. Iconic titles under the Vertigo banner include "Sandman" by Neil Gaiman, "Preacher" by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and "Hellblazer," the longest-running Vertigo series.
