Hello, here's your weekly FOC Newsletter, a reminder of some graphic novels, big books, and manga pre-orders you might have missed.
Yes, even in the middle of event planning (which itself happens in the middle of other stuff), we still have to find the time to write FOC Newsletters.
How chaotic is it for people who’ve never planned such events before and anxiously go over every decision they make five to six-hundred times and are generally bad at focusing and planning? Let’s just say: every day I get a little more tempted to sneak some of my Elvanse into certain people’s coffee.
But you know what? Most of it has been fun! And if you’d like to meet, get a signature, or a sketch from Filipe Andrade, Christian Ward, or Jonas Scharf on September 20 at our warehouse, click here, fight your way through our gloriously messy FAQ, and if you’re still confused, Simone will be happy to help :)
The Complete Harrow County Compendium
We both know you can get The Complete Harrow County in a beautiful, oversized hardcover that weighs 5 kg. But now you can get those 1,080 pages in this compact compendium that weighs just 1.5 kg.
No need to stretch your fingers before, during, or after reading. And the best part? It’ll arrive just in time for spooky season!
Captain America Modern Era Epic Collection Vol. 3: The Burden Of Dreams
- Born in the late ’90s or later? Check.
- Watched all the Captain America movies? Check.
- Too young to read Captain America by Brubaker when it came out? Check.
- Know that Ed Brubaker’s run is a must-read? Check.
- Don’t want to read it across five Omnis? Double check.
Good news: Brubaker’s run is being collected in the Marvel Modern Era Epic Collections. Volume 3 covers the part where Bucky becomes Captain America and no, I’m not going to tell you why…
(Because I don't even know why. I just got the Captain America: Modern Era Epic Collection Vol. 2).
Ashita No Joe: Fighting For Tomorrow 3
Ashita No Joe: Fighting For Tomorrow is nominated in the Eisner Awards 2025 - Best U.S. Edition of International Material - Asia category… and that’s literally all I can tell you about it. Sorry :(
But according to Daniel it’s one of those stories that picks you up when life knocks you down. So if you want to know more, don’t be shy and head over to Beyond The Panels, where Daniel covers every Eisner-nominated manga from this year.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Omnibus Vol. 2
This Brand New Day volume picks up right where the first left off.
Norman Osborn is now running the country (because of course he is), J. Jonah Jameson is about to get the shock of his life, and Spider-Man? Barely keeping it up has never felt more relatable.
I’m giving it a blind chance…
Once Upon A Time At The End Of The World Deluxe Edition
If you’re getting this newsletter, you probably bought the Scalped Omnis, because you knew how good they were. You’re probably just as mad as I am that these two perfect books don’t even have the same DC logo on the spine.
Scalped was the first series I read by Jason Aaron. His Thor Omnis are under the 25 all-time omni bestsellers at Walt’s. I’ve never devoured two Omnis as easily as I did with Scalped. So yes, I’m ready to dive into more of Jason Aaron’s work with Once Upon A Time At The End Of The World.
All books on FOC today…
...can be found here! Wednesday is the official deadline for low pre-order prices (but we never change prices before Friday... shhhh it's a secret!)
All single issues on FOC are to be found here. Because singles are affected by a lot of last minute changes and cover additions, they have a later deadline at Saturday, 4 pm. If you need any instruction how our single issue subscription service works, watch this video and contact Heiko if you still have questions.
Bye!
