January 2026 Comic Book Sales Chart – What’s Selling Right Now

Which comic books are actually selling right now? This monthly sales chart breaks down the best-selling single-issue comics of January 2026, based on real sales data from Walt’s Comic Shop, one of Europe’s largest retailers for US comics. From Absolute Batman and DC’s ongoing dominance to Marvel’s Ultimate Endgame, this list shows what readers are actually buying. So basically: no hype, just real sales.
And once again, no big surprises this month. The power of the ABSOLUTE line keeps giving (I mean, it literally is in the branding!), and we’re swept up in that wave just as much as any US comic store.
But this month (and for the second time in a row) the #1 spot goes to Marvel. And it’s with the same book: Ultimate Endgame continues to sell as a blind bag, and despite the problems with the condition of the inlaying books, people just don’t seem to care too much and keep ordering them (we even sold more bundles today!).
And then… the Absolute Batman party begins.
#16 ranking at #2 is no big surprise.
#1 still ranking at #9 much more so (which reminds me to put another order for the next reprint... Fun fact: it's the eleventh one, and our biggest order since the original 1st print).
Another fun fact: looking at the Top 50, a whopping quarter of all units sold have an “Absolute Batman…” in their title. Well, fun for the DC bosses, that's for sure! And fun for us, the retailers. And for you, the fans. Everybody wins!!
But what's really interesting, DC is not solely driven by Absolute alone anymore. DC K.O., together with its spin-offs and the relaunched Batman, is clearly becoming the new foundation of DC’s dominance. If they can keep up this momentum with their next slate of launches (DC Next Level), and also manage to win back some of their lapsed Vertigo fans with the upcoming relaunch… Netflix will be happy. And hopefully let them do their thing!
But I think you’ll understand that the biggest highlight and positive surprise this month for me is the pre-sales of our very own exclusive cover for Witchblade Annual 2026 by the magnificent Luana Vecchio. Just judged by revenue, it would actually be a TOP10 book (!!). And with the upcoming event on February 28, I expect the book to stay in the Top 50 for at least another month.
And yes, we have more plans for exclusives, and I hope we can announce something next month. Stay tuned. It’s going to be… pretty damn massive.
Chart Explanation
This list captures the circulation of single-issue comics at Walt’s Comic Shop during January 2026.
Variants & Consolidation
We merge all distinct cover versions of the same issue into one total. This includes standard covers, retailer exclusives (like the Witchblade variant), and commemorative editions.
CGC Policy
Only CGC pre-orders are counted to reflect new-release hype. Standard in-stock slab sales are filtered out.
Measurement
The “Units” column counts the total number of physical comics. For retailers purchasing 5-copy bundles or packs, all 5 copies are included in the final tally.
The Baseline
Batman #5 is used as a 100% anchor. Any score above 100% means the book sold more than the flagship monthly Batman issue.
Ranking
Titles are ordered by unit volume. In the event of a tie (as seen with Witchblade Annual and Batman #2), the title with the higher financial impact (revenue) takes the lead.
