Marvel Comics

Marvel Comics is a prominent American comic book publisher founded in 1939 by Martin Goodman under the name Timely Publications. It became known as Atlas Comics in the 1950s before evolving into Marvel Comics in the 1960s, a name that has since become synonymous with superhero comics. Marvel is headquartered in New York City and is a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, which Disney acquired in 2009.

Marvel has introduced a vast and iconic array of characters and superhero teams that have become cultural staples worldwide. Some of its most famous creations include Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, and the Fantastic Four.
