Sauvages et impitoyables, ils sont bien décidés à chasser les Tengu déjà établis et à s’en prendre aux habitants de la région. Pour la première fois, Usagi doit s’allier à des yokai contre un ennemi encore plus redoutable, dans « Tengu War ! » Ensuite, dans « The Master of Hebishima », Usagi livre un panier de lézards à un moine excentrique vivant sur une île isolée infestée de serpents, où il découvre qu’ils partagent un passé commun remontant aux Great Wars et à la Battle of Adachi Plain, là où Usagi est devenu un ronin. Enfin, dans « Yukichi », Usagi croise un jeune maître d’armes chargé de réaliser la dernière volonté de son maître.
