Forgive me, Father*, for I have sinned.
I really wanted the grave edition of Absolute Death of Superman and didnât pre-order it.
And now the price has gone insane everywhere.
Yeah, I recognize that writing a newsletter on the importance of pre-ordering and then thinking I would get away with not doing it is⊠a bit insane.
In my defense, it was only the coolest gimmick edition in a long time, who else was gonna want that?
So take it from a fool: pre-order; donât play around.
*The father in question is the one from Ordained, the single issue you should be going after this year.
**Yes, I sneaked a single-issue recommendation. What are you gonna do, sue me?

Tomb Raider Colossal Collection Volume 3 HC
I remain astonished by the success you gamers have had with this line.
I finally finished the first one, and it was quite a fun ride.
Iâm very excited for this third and final (?) one because it features two of my favorite writers ever.
(I WROTE ABOUT THEM!!)
Gail Simone, troll specialist, is very much perfect for Lara Croft. Think of her Domino run or the incredible work on Birds of Prey, and youâll know why Iâm hyped.
And Mariko Tamaki, whom I would describe as the master decipherer of appearance vs. intent. She writes with flair and honesty. I cannot wait to see what sheâs done with this iconic figure.
Also, did you see we got our first look at Sophie Turner as Lara in the new Amazon show?

I honestly donât understand what some peopleâs problem is (DO NOT DM me about this). She looks dope.
Punisher & Fury MAX by Garth Ennis Omnibus
Marvelâs release of the week is this amalgamation of recent miniseries from the MAX imprint.
Marvelâs adult line, or, how I describe it to non-readers: the âgrr Iâm a man in the 2000s, I might shoot you and I wonât cryâ imprint.
Jokes aside, very fun throwback minis are being collected here.
Including the very recent 2024âs Get Fury. Love when things make their way to oversized format this quickly.
You will have to choose between two very cool covers.
Boys in the jungle getting messy, or a badass target thingy that I never get tired of.
I just canât decide.
ALSO, DID YOU KNOW thereâs a Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998) movie with David Hasselhoff?
Yes, you probably knew.
But why do I forget this exists and then get into a Wikipedia bender about it every two years?
I CANNOT be the only one.
My view every Christmas at two in the morning, after I destroy my weak-ass family with my unbeatable knowledge of Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (stylized as Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD and Nick Fury: Agent of Shield). I have never actually seen the movie.

G.I. Joe Deluxe Edition HC Book 01
Energon Universe G.I. Joe gets hardcovers.
Veeeery excited about this because I loved all the miniseries they released before the main title, AND I waited to get it in hardcovers.
I know. Donât tell Walt or he might fire me from the single issues FOC Newsletter.
WE HC WAIT, BABY.
WE ARE NOT LIKE THOSE SINGLE-ISSUE LOSERS. WE PUNK.
WE PEW PEW PEW WITH OUR ARMY TOYS. WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME? OK, SHUT UP.
Just love the Energon pew-pew-pews. Actually high-quality, fun stuff.
No, itâs not just for people who watched the G.I. Joe cartoons. Although Iâm sure my â80s-born brother will love this more than he loves me (not a high bar).

Hey, whatâs up with my F.O.C. week being all commando-jungle-soldier stuff?
I remember being the last one reserving the spot for this month, so maybe the Walt team is just PEWPEWPEWphobic. Iâm on to you, Petar.
WHATEVER. Weâll get messy in the jungle with our bros and talk about Lara Croft, and we donât care who sees it.
Check out everything on pre-order here. Donât be like me.
I WILL FOREVER MISS YOU, ABSOLUTE DEATH OF SUPERMAN DIRECT MARKET EDITIOOOOOOOOOON.
Forever in our hearts and wishlists. R.I.P. R.I.P. Cover (2026-2026)Â
See you,
Math
