Friday Fitzhugh a passé son enfance à résoudre des crimes et à déterrer des secrets occultes avec son meilleur ami Lancelot Jones, le garçon le plus intelligent du monde. Mais ça, c’était avant. Maintenant, elle est à l’université et commence une nouvelle vie en solo — du moins, c’est ce qu’elle croyait. Quand Friday rentre chez elle pour les fêtes, elle est immédiatement replongée dans l’orbite de Lance et découvre que quelque chose de très étrange et dangereux se trame dans leur petite ville de Nouvelle-Angleterre... C’est carrément les vacances de Noël venues de l’Enfer, et ils pourraient bien ne pas survivre jusqu’à la nouvelle année.
