Fat Cop never passes up a possible grift, a chance to use excessive force, or a pit stop at any chain restaurant he passes. He chafes when forced to take a new partner, Pete Rick, to keep him on the up and up. Even when he lucks into a heroic deed, he manages
to do so repulsively. But when Fat Cop uncovers a child slave ring operating out of the local Trader Joe's, he may have met his match on the reprehensibility scale. If he's not careful, it might be a transformative experience that causes him to reconsider his role as a loving partner and father. Well, up to a point, anyway - sometimes a fat cop is just a Fat Cop.
Johnny Ryan returns to his lowbrow humor roots following his cult classic and violent fantasy series, Prison Pit. Ping-ponging his antihero through an ever-escalating and cascading series of violent, scatological, and wildly imaginative absurdities (most but not all of Fat Cop's own making), Ryan's brilliance as a visual and verbal gag writer shine on every page of this master class in physical humor and comics storytelling. Fat Cop is as hilarious as it is profane, and a welcome return to long-form comics by the cartoonist and animation veteran Johnny Ryan.
Johnny Ryan is the creator of the cult favorite Angry Youth Comics, a co-creator of the Nickelodeon series Pig Goat Banana Cricket, and was the story editor of Warner's mid-2010s reboot of Looney Tunes. He lives in Glendale, CA.

Fat Cop ne laisse jamais passer une combine potentielle, une occasion d’user d’une force excessive ou un arrêt dans n’importe quelle chaîne de restos qu’il croise. S’il ne fait pas attention, ça pourrait être une expérience transformatrice qui l’amènera à reconsidérer son rôle de compagnon aimant et de père. Enfin, jusqu’à un certain point : parfois, un gros flic reste juste un Fat Cop.
Johnny Ryan revient à ses racines d’humour bien crade après sa série culte de fantasy violente, Prison Pit. En propulsant son antihéros dans une suite toujours plus folle et ininterrompue d’absurdités violentes, scatologiques et d’une imagination débridée (pour la plupart, mais pas toutes, provoquées par Fat Cop lui-même), Ryan fait briller à chaque page son génie du gag visuel et verbal dans cette leçon magistrale d’humour physique et de narration en BD. Fat Cop est aussi hilarant qu’obscène, et marque le retour bienvenu de Johnny Ryan, dessinateur et vétéran de l’animation, au format long en comics.
