Sa vie banale est soudain bouleversée lorsqu’il reçoit une copie de “The Village of Fate”, un jeu expérimental avec des graphismes et une IA comme il n’en a jamais vu. Dans le jeu, il incarne une divinité protectrice qui veille sur les habitants d’un nouveau village… mais il découvre que les personnages du jeu sont si intelligents, si réactifs, si humains, qu’il commence à se demander s’il ne s’agirait pas de vraies personnes.
