You want an Omnibus? Tell DC!
If you don’t know what that is, let me introduce you.
This is a yearly poll done by Near Mint Condition, where Omar, Crushing Krisis, and the gang list every unpublished DC material and we get to vote on our most wanted.
Omar then sends the top 60 to DC, and they DO take our suggestions into consideration.
I’m totally not plugging this so I can influence you to vote for Checkmate by Greg Rucka, ok?
They do such a wonderful job and I want to highlight it!!
Also, vote for Checkmate by Greg Rucka.
On to the FOC.
When there's evil on the attack...
Marv Wolfman and George Pérez’s legendary saga on the Titans continues.
This follows New Teen Titans Omnibus Vol. 5.
At the time, the series relaunched with a new title after it became a bit ludicrous to claim these characters were teens.
Now they are just the Titans. Still new tho.
This is considered one of the best DC runs ever for a reason.
Superhero goodness with soap opera drama to rival Chris Claremont’s Uncanny X-Men and then some.
You can absolutely start with this volume, but I warn you, you will get addicted and pursue the other volumes like your life depends on it.
I would argue this is maybe the best comic to recommend to people who only read modern things. It’s a great mixture of everything that made DC pre-Crisis, but with a young and fresh perspective.
It’s so good it became a problem. Most Titans comics today are very much a reheating of what those two dudes did. This is how influential it is.

Speaking of Claremont's X-Men…
A week with Uncanny and Titans? Yes, we’re all filing for bankruptcy. Except for Walt himself!!!
This is the new volume of the title-specific omnibus collection.
What does that mean?
Well, X-Men titles are collected in two ways.
The event route. That collects all titles from the X-office being published at the time, including Uncanny, New Mutants, X-Factor, and so on. They revolve around the event crossovers. That’s how you get your Road To and Aftermath titles.
And the title-specific route. They collect only the respective title and the issues extremely needed from crossovers. Meaning you get an Uncanny, a New Mutants, and an X-Factor line all separately.
See? Not that hard. It only took me 1 million YouTube videos for someone to explain that to me, so I’m sharing the gold.
This is all to say, this omnibus is the sixth in the Uncanny-specific line.
So, it double dips with three event omnibuses, those being X-Men: Mutant Massacre Omnibus, X-Men: Fall of the Mutants Omnibus, and X-Men: Inferno Prologue Omnibus.
Which way is better? Well, if you want to get to the core of Claremont's X-Men, get the title-specific line. If you wanna read it all, go with the events. Unfortunately, they are not all easily available, so that’s why a lot of collections are mix-and-match.
Go with your heart. The important thing is that you get your mutants.

DC K.O. hitting (haha!) the trades-
The DC K.O. tie-in trade paperback collections are starting to hit FOC.
Oof, they grow up so fast.
All Fight is where you get those cool match-up issues like Wonder Woman vs. Lobo and Harley Quinn vs. Zatanna. So, really good gems here. Red Hood vs. Joker is my favorite.

The Justice League Unlimited trade has a story with time-displaced DC heroes from other eras, like Superman with the blue uniform and Tim Drake’s version of Batman Beyond. All led by one Mr. Terrific, these guys have basically nothing to lose and will go All-In for the mission.

Battle Royale has a lot of one-shots from the event, including the Batman: Knightquest miniseries and the massively talked-about Battle Royale featuring crossovers with other properties like Homelander from The Boys, the killing bear from Beneath the Trees, Annabelle the killer doll, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Sub-Zero, and many more.
Wait, what???? OH YES DUDE.

I want to give a quick shout-out to the wonderful reimagining of Jane Eyre in the graphic novel Jane by Aline Brosh McKenna (she wrote the script for the original Devil Wears Prada movie!!!). It’s back in print and it’s just an adorable book with some clever writing and gorgeous art by Ramón K. Pérez. For all the literature fans out there.
