NEW JULY PREOS JUST DROPPED

Hey gang,

It’s me, good ol’ Walt! Just wanted to let you know that the July pre-orders dropped and, to quote one of our main data lifters, Michael, “It’s a pretty heavy month of pre-orders in general.”

I need to highlight three books, and who better to talk about teenage drama than someone who can properly remember being young because it was only a few decades ago?

Harbinger Omnibus

Man, this brings back memories! Of rereading the first dozen issues just two weeks ago. A big Valiant article will feature this fantastic series in the next Fanzine. And if you’re like me and can’t get enough of f*cked-up teenagers with superpowers and not the best plan for how to use them, you’ll love this. Also, this is where David Lapham entered comics, and the realism and drama jump off the page.

Runaways by Rainbow Rowell Omnibus

This is just like Harbinger, but less angsty. And, to be honest, I’ve only ever sampled an issue here and there, but it was very entertaining. Also, everyone’s saying it’s one of Marvel’s most consistent series in recent years, and why argue with everyone? Looking forward to this one.

Afterlife with Archie Deluxe Edition

More deranged teenager adventures! This was a crazy surprise when it was released. Archie went horror, but how dark could they get? Pretty dark! And I loved it. Francavilla’s art is, of course, spotless.
