MARVEL BIG NEW ERA OFFICIALLY STARTS HERE AND NOW.
The big week is here. So we’re getting right to the point.
It’s time for Avengers #1 to hit FOC.
Chip Zdarsky has been building his Marvel Universe in the pages of his Captain America run, Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon and Avengers: Armageddon. Spinning out of One World Under Doom, the major focus of his story is the political uproar in Latveria following Red Hulk’s takeover in the absence left by Doom (who is right now leading a revolution in Hell with Steve Rogers. YES!). David Colton is the new breakout star character, a new Captain America-analog turned more into a Sentry-analog who is now joining (or severely opposing, either/or) the Avengers.

The inspirations of Bendis have been confirmed and talked about a lot of times at this point, but if it wasn't obvious to you, Chip is very much returning to the roster of New Avengers by adding Spidey, Luke Cage, Wolverine and Daredevil. Carol Danvers is also at the center of the new team.
As a massive fan of that era, I have been very excited about this, and even when we keep referencing the B guy every time we talk about this run, Zdarsky has very much been doing it in his own way. And with a style of writing, I would say, very new to him. The books so far have not been a try-hard-to-impress shock-value fest, instead taking their time with the character development and with confident pacing.
Let’s look at some of the covers we have revealed so far, with many more names like Jim Cheung with top-secret, to-be-revealed art.
Blind bags, of course, are also back here with the True Believers program. This is once again promising some very cool mysterious sketches by various Marvel artists out there, if you are lucky enough.
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL.

Miracleman is coming to the Marvel Universe.
Miracleman, as in Marvelman, Mick Anglo’s Shazam/Captain Marvel-analog that was made legendary in the voice of the one-and-only Alan Moore in his classic and industry-redefining run that was later continued by names like Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham. Marvel has had the rights for a long time, and we had a short Jason Aaron-written story in the Timeless one-shot a few years ago.

Three Worlds / Three Moons: Shift #1 is the newest release in the Jonathan Hickman-headed 3W3M project after last month's Foundations one-shot. An online community-based project, the idea was to create a universe where the readers have access and can even influence the process of world-building and character development. Dark Horse is now publishing the output catalogue in single issues and beautiful hardcovers to come next year.
Absolute Cassandra Cain: The Shadow's Hand #1 is still available to be ordered since the FOC has moved one week. A lot of you guys already did, but here’s one last chance if you haven’t.
Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1 is the newest serial-killer spinoff in Tiny Onion’s hit franchise. Season 01 was great, and these awesome minis are a perfect way to keep us entertained before season 2 comes out.
