DC Omnibus Collections

The DC Omnibus is a line of oversized, high quality, full color, hardcover collections  published by DC Comics since 2007, reprinting comics previously printed in single issue format. Individual volumes tend to focus on collecting either the works of prolific comic creators, major comic book events like Blackest Night and Infinite Crisis; complete series or runs like Gotham Central and Grayson or chronological reprints of the earliest years of stories featuring the company's most well known series and characters like Batman, Superman and the Justice League. 

For several years, a scene has formed around the Omnibus format, where comic fans, experts and collectors discuss content and speculate about future releases. At its center is Omar Vadivieso's youtube channel Near Mint Condition.

Even though DC has only a fraction of omnibus format releases compared to Marvel, and they have so far eschewed variant covers, some out-of-print volumes are now trading for many times their (already not low) cover price. 

That's why we at Walt's Comic Shop have started an extensive pre-order program, so that anyone who is interested in future releases no longer has to roll the dice at release day — FOMO is finally over! :)
