No introduction today because I’m PUMPED!

I wanted to talk to you about some single-issue-related things we’re doing at Walt’s that not enough people know about.

So we’re doing the writer’s wet dream: an F.A.Q. section where I can blurb to you about things I know.

(My boyfriend calls this “what you do at night in bed with me when you can’t sleep.”)
So cozy up in bed with me, and let’s F.O.C.

BAT FAM ATTACK 🦇

ROBIN finally arrived in the Absolute Universe.

Well, Robins. And they are the talk of the town.

The original cover revealed these really cool mechas and some boys on motorcycles.

Now we have confirmation: Dick, Jason, Tim, Duke, and Stephanie are some sort of Power Rangers group. Hmmm?? HELL TO THE YES.

Each of them has a cover, and they are all awesome as hell.

Yeah, they’re here, and it seems they are aura farming. You go, kings. (And queens?)

Cannot wait for this. I’m using every bit of energy in my body not to pick up every cover. I will fail.

Absolute Batman #20

Speaking of queens,

Barbara Gordon: Breakout #1 is also on F.O.C.

This spins out of Batman #9 and sees Barbs sharing bunk beds with the worst of the worst in prison.

Mariko Tamaki is writing it. She’s quite literally one of the best authors around, and it’s truly a privilege that she keeps being interested in superheroes.

If you read her Detective Comics or her work with Harley, you know Barbara is perfect for her.

F.A.A.Q.

(Frequent Absolutely Asked Questions)

Robins are my boys. Can I get those graded?

YES. We do that for you. We have:

on pre-order right now.

And tons more titles available. (It’s getting bigger every week.)

If you don’t know what graded comics are: well, CGC takes your single issues, grades their mint-condition quality from 0 to 10, and puts them in a pretty, cool-looking box you can display around.

We actually guarantee you the 9.8 grade, so you don’t even need to worry about anything. Just how cool you will look when you get them.

It’s the collector’s holy grail certificate, and we’re Indiana Jones, so to say.

Math, can I catch up on Absolute just with singles?

Yes, we have bundles for you. Who cares about trades? We’re single for life. (That came out wrong.)

WOW Math, that’s cool. Can you do it with more titles?

Well, if you ask nicely, I can for sure bug Walt for it.

Anyway, what’s FACSIMILE?

GLAD YOU ASKED. (I’m pretending I’m not the one selecting the questions.)

Well, they are basically single-issue reprints that aim to mimic the original publications, meaning you get the exact experience people did when they bought that original comic, down to the ads and page breaks.

They are very cool. Some of the ones we have available in store include first appearances by Superman and Batman, and even reprints of Invincible and Frank Miller’s classic The Dark Knight Returns.

That brings me to...

JLA / Avengers #1 Facsimile Edition 2026 Variant

Yes. We’re getting this.

What was once thought impossible can be in your hands soon.

The classic Kurt Busiek and George Pérez crossover was the only major thing left out of the two big omnibuses DC and Marvel released in 2024.

So we kind of thought it was an impossible rights nightmare and cut our losses.

No. It’s here. And in the coolest format possible, including a foil edition and a Ryan Stegman variant.

Marvel is releasing issues #1 and #3, while DC is doing #2 and #4.

This is a gem for any collector or reader out there. Don’t miss it.

BLIND BAG ALERT ⚠️

Queen in Black #1, Marvel’s newest event and the sequel to Donny Cates’ insanely popular King in Black.

I’ll fight for my life for this Jeff cover. If you find one, PLEASE give it to me. (Never thought you’d see a shop newsletter trying to get YOU to give stuff, right?)

We have:

Also, the True Believers 20-Bag Display Box, which includes 19 blind-bagged variant covers, 2 of which are guaranteed to be the Connecting Variant Covers A and B by David Marquez, and 1 Display Box Exclusive Hela [Black] Foil Variant cover by Patrick Gleason (in its own clear polybag).
