Hey folks,

Come on in and enjoy this week’s FOC Newsletter!

I promise there’s more than just Absolute Batman waiting for you. Get comfortable, put that opposable thumb of yours to good use, scroll down a little, and join me in discovering what you’ll be reading a few months from now.

Absolute Batman: Deluxe Edition Vol. 1 HC

Finally, the beefed-up, “poor” version of the Bat gets his first taste of the high life.

We’re still far from an Omnibus (yes, I know many of you are already thinking about it), but we finally have a proper Deluxe Hardcover.

I miss the days when Marvel and DC released more books in this format: great to read, gorgeous on the shelf.

And one thing is certain: these print runs never last long.

DC Finest: Catwoman: Creatures of the Night TP

Ah, the good old days (if we’re allowed to call the ’90s that), when Selina was still mainly a thief. Stealing for the simple pleasure of stealing. Easy enough, right?

This collection gives us classic Catwoman, plenty of noir and crime, and a very different relationship with Batman compared with more recent stories. Tom King, step aside.

And if you haven’t read these stories before, there’s a reason: much of the material collected here is being reprinted for the first time. Got it?

Shirow Masamune: Artworks in the Shell HC

Seriously, how great is this artbook?

I absolutely love the one made for Rumiko Takahashi, and this Masamune collection is definitely my next purchase.

The timing couldn’t be better, coming after the Ghost in the Shell series on Prime and the Deluxe reprint of Appleseed.

Many of the pieces included here come from the restoration work done for Masamune’s exhibition in Tokyo last year.

If, like me, you didn’t get the chance to visit Japan over the past year (and if you did, you have my envy), this book is probably the next best thing.

Star Wars: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1

Essential reading for anyone who wants to spend Saturday nights arguing about Star Wars lore and which trilogy is actually the best.

This new printing collects the A New Hope comics alongside plenty of material created when Lucasfilm still had absolutely no idea what was going to happen in the movies that followed.

Want to destroy your friends with obscure knowledge about the earliest Star Wars stories?

May this Omnibus be with you.

Next time, let's talk about the manga too.

BEFORE WE GO...

Sorry, Math here. Let me interrupt Simone’s (delivered way before deadline ❤️) newsletter so I can recommend one more thing. Don’t tell anyone, let’s keep it between us people-who-read-newsletters-to-the-very-bottom.

Ram V and Evan Cagle were here at the warehouse last Saturday, and besides being such fun dudes, they also let us have a peek at their new graphic novel, Deicidium.

It’s a high-concept, apotheotic, and ethereal saga being published as graphic novels, and you cannot miss it for the world.

Check out all the pre-orders down below.

My colleagues say I have the sense of humor of a three-year-old. I love stories that make me cry, and I believe there's good in everything, even pineapple on pizza. If I were a Pokémon, I'd be a Fairy/Poison type.
