Another week, another newsletter for Pride Month!
This week's theme is Girls Love (GL)/Yuri.
I've always had a hard time finding yuri that I really like because it's not always as emotional or honest as I'd like. Sometimes they include certain topics and themes that I generally try to avoid. However, with the recent rise of Green Yuri 💚 (The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t A Guy At All) and the newly announced Red Yuri ❤️(Love Bullet), I have found more and more yuri series that I enjoy reading. That's why I'd like to recommend some great series with good representation that span different genres.
Gene Bride
Gene Bride is a brand new four-volume series that has just started to be released in English. If you’re new to girls' love, you might want to start with this one, as the GL aspect is not the focal point of the story.
Instead, you’ll find a very cool, intriguing sci-fi and mystery story that also critiques society. The artwork is amazing, and I was hooked by the story immediately.
Without giving anything away, our main character, Ichi, suddenly starts to remember things that happened in high school. She was part of a genetic trial in which participants were matched into destined pairs based on their genetics. Ichi then finds themself caught up in a web of questions that arise…

The Moon On A Rainy Night
If you're looking for an adorable GL storyline, The Moon On A Rainy Night might be the one for you!
Our two main characters meet by coincidence on a rainy night (you never saw that coming!), and then again at high school because they are in the same class. One of them, Kanon, is partially deaf, which makes it difficult for her to follow classes, and she is also bullied for her disability. The girl she met on that night, Saki, tries to help her, and they discover that they both love piano and music. They slowly grow closer, and this is definitely a slow-burn romance.
This series is also being adapted into an anime, so keep an eye out for that! I really enjoy the slower storytelling, as it allows enough time for the characters to develop and their relationship to blossom.

I Want To Love You Till Your Dying Day
Last but certainly not least: I Want To Love You Till Your Dying Day. This is a fairly new series with an upcoming anime adaptation that I'm really excited about.
Imagine a combination of Witch Hat Atelier, Violet Evergarden and Promised Neverland, but with a GL twist.
The story follows two girls who meet at a boarding school in a world of war and wizardry. One of the girls is used as a powerful weapon in the war, while the other is spared and just wants the war to end. Since they share a room and both struggle to get along with others, they quickly form a bond. I’m personally really curious to see where this story will take us. Currently, only two volumes are available in English, with the third releasing this week. I know what I’ll be reading this week!
