WE MIGHT BE LAST, BUT WE'RE THE BEST!!!
Hey, did the Black Friday deals kill your wallet already?
Better pull a Marvel/DC and relaunch it back to life with a new #1.
(Maybe Absolute Wallet? Ultimate Wallet: Deal Two?)
Walt’s Black Friday deal has reached single issues. Gloriana tells me there are more than THREE THOUSAND comics at a whopping 70% off.
I bet all of you are into my revival ideas after hearing this. CHECK OUT EVERYTHING ON SALE HERE.
Sure, saving in omnibuses and trades is cool, but you know what’s cheaper and, with enough digging, has the same content as the collected editions? SINGLE ISSUES.
Yeah. Mind-blowing, I know. (Talking like I’m not considering taking a second mortgage to cover this Black Friday already.)
Well... it might be Black Friday, but there’s HUGE stuff FOC’ing this week as well. (Expenses for new FOCs do NOT count toward your Black Friday budget because they are different things—don’t worry—it’s the law, I think.)
(I don’t have a house, and I don’t know EXACTLY what a mortgage is, but everyone always says this in movies.)
(THREE THOUSAND???????)
The Avengers #34
THE KING IS BACK.
It’s homecoming AT Marvel because Brian Michael Bendis is writing a new Avengers story!
(New Avengers as in a new old-Avengers—not, like, New Avengers referring to the, well, now old New Avengers—because… wait, I lost myself a bit. I think I’m having a stroke.)
Anyway, it’s Legacy Edition 800, and we’re celebrating by bringing our good ol’ boy home (I’m personally pretending nothing else—super—ever happened). Also, Jed MacKay’s run seems to be reaching its peak, and if that’s not enough to entice you…
This edition is the first in the commemorative Russell Dauterman connecting cover that will span the next few issues.
Look at this beauty:

I was getting this for Bendis AND for the surprisingly under-discussed MacKay conclusion—but Kamala in the front row?
I might buy 100 and do my own surprise blind bags, where all the reveals are just the same cover!!!
Iron Man #1
ANOTHER KING IS ALSO BACK.
Avengers returns seem to be a hot commodity, because the Golden Avenger is getting a new ongoing. If there’s anything Tony Stark can’t hold, it’s his TITLE! I was always going to say title, okay?
I think this time we might be in luck, because superstar Joshua Williamson is coming to Marvel for his first house ongoing. Williamson has been killing it with Superman over at DC, with an electric run that blends the best of the family dynamics—akin to the Tomasi and Gleeson run—with an action-forward epic that puts the title at the forefront of the publisher.
I hope something like that is in store for Tony, a character who has been collecting underrated, short-lived series and has never truly reached the global-phenomenon status the movies have placed him in.
The question is… is that what the title should be? I don’t know. Let’s have Joshua answer that for us.

Absolute Batman: Ark M Special #1
I love these Absolute-universe one-shots. The Absolute Evil one was one of my favorite single issues of the year. The world-building and expansion we get with these titles have been awesome.
Now we’re diving straight into this universe’s version of Arkham, with daddy-o himself, Scott Snyder, being joined by Frank Tieri!!
I’m so excited to learn more about this new Joker. For everything Scott’s return to the Batman mythos has been celebrated, I think we’re in for an all-timer with this wonderful reinvention.
Everything we ever needed has already been done with the Joker, and then redone it, shot in IMAX, and then done it a third time just for nostalgia. Very excited to see a creator at the top of his game (and with nothing to lose, really) challenging this notion.

What else?
You bought the colossal edition like WILD ANIMALS, so now it’s time to prove your love of Lara Croft with the new Tomb Raider: Sacred Artifacts #1.
Absolute Superman is starting a new arc in Absolute Superman #15.
Peach Momoko is back writing Sai, her version of Psylocke—a long-awaited return to the Demon Days universe—in Sai: Dimensional Rivals #1. (If you’ve been loving Ultimate X-Men and you’re already crying it’s ending, take a look at these titles.)
The Marvel Rivals fanbase doesn’t live on Jeff alone. We’re getting another popularity booster with Luna Snow: World Tour #1. Honestly, this character deserves it. It’s her time. Marvel would be INSANE not to invest in her. Can my Squirrel Girl be next?
Check out everything on FOC here:
SI FOCOur pre-orders run until Saturday at 4 p.m., so get your orders in by then. If you need help, Heiko is your friend—email him and he’ll be there for you (when the rain starts to pour).
Okay. Now run to the sale before someone buys that one issue you need!!!!
See you,
Math.
