Hello Comics-loving Folks,

and welcome to WCS Central, January edition.

I know it's been a while since the last update from WCS Central (that is the "main" newsletter, written by myself, Mr. Walt), but it did have to skip one month, because December was simply too crazy busy to focus on anything beyond survival. And then the new year happened, and I kept thinking: “I’ll wait until I can also announce that thing.”
Which quickly turned into: “…oh, and that other thing as well!!”
And then finally: “Nope, I cannot wait any longer, because I risk bursting from excitement.”
Just pretending, of course. In reality I’m only bursting from waaaay too much food during the (permanently?!) pro-longed Christmas-eat-alot-period.

OK, but before we dive into the really exciting news (you can always scroll, it’s OK, many others do it as well😭), I wanted to mention that the Black Friday shock (aka overtime, double shifts, massive delays) did have an effect on us. And I’m happy to report that one of our New Year’s resolutions can already be checked off: strengthening fulfilment. We thought we’d made a solid step last year with new packing tables and a larger crew... and hey, we even have a conveyor belt now! But with another staggering increase in orders of 88% (!!!) compared to 2025, it turns out that still wasn’t enough. We've been hiring and training new staff, so expect to see some new names on your beautiful packing slips, and much quicker turnaround times of 1–2 days from order to shipping going forward. For some of you that might have been the most exciting news of them all. But for me it's all about...

Only at Walt's: the ultimate creators bundle experience

Sara, Luana & Erica sign at Walt's Warehouse on Feb 28.!!

We have our next signing event. And since we like too many artists to invite them one by one, we’ve now officially applied the always-popular bundle principle to our events as well:
THREE for the price of… NONE?!

Yup, that’s correct.

Sara Pichelli (co-creator of Miles Morales, OG Euro-invasionist at Marvel Comics, living legend), Luana Vecchio (didn’t we rave enough about her already??), and Erica D’Urso (yet another Italian Wunderkind, currently tackling Immortal Batman) are all coming to the Walt’s Comic Shop Warehouse on February 28 to sign books for you.

Entry is free, but capacity is limited, so please make sure to grab your free ticket in advance. You can get it here.

You’ll be able to bring your own books, pick up new ones on site, and yes, there will be deals. Plenty of them. The warehouse will be open, shelves will be full, and we’re already digging through boxes to see what nice surprises we can unearth for the day. And we still have a few surprises up our sleeves...

So you must be making tons of €€ with those events, right??

Not really. But that's OK (at least for now 😅).

At some point, they will have to become sustainable on their own. But right now, we’re still exploring.

After our legendary 5 Year Event last September (and the Chip Zdarsky follow-up in November), this feels like the next step in establishing our warehouse as a place of pure comics enjoyment and appreciation. A place where you can actually meet the people behind the art of comics.

We already have at least two more events lined up for 2026. Where this will take us? We’ll see.

For now, we’re just having a blast planning them. And we hope you’ll be joining us to celebrate some of Europe’s (and the world's!) most exciting comic creators.

And for everyone who can't attend: we will make sure to get some singles and collected editions signed to be sold later in the webshop as well!

Yup, Witchblade's costume just got a bit... witchier recently!

Our First "Proper" Store Variant

While it’s true that we’ve had variant exclusives in the past, they were always based on pre-existing artwork.

Well... not this time!

To celebrate our live event and also because it was simply too much fun not to do it, we asked Luana Vecchio to create an original cover for the upcoming Witchblade Annual #1 (2026).

We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Luana will, of course, be signing the book live at the event. And again,  if you can’t make it to Berlin, we’ve already put together several options in the webshop so you can still grab a piece of the cake from afar.

By the way, in case you're into the CGC thing, we have recently expanded our pre-orders (because you demanded it), and we also keep getting more slabs in; just have a look here.

More Shipping Options

This isn’t 100 percent set up yet, but I guess it’s already safe to announce:

We’re strengthening our collaboration with the German postal service (Deutsche Post and DHL). This will finally allow us to offer more competitive DHL pricing for several EU countries and especially for Germany.

For Germany in particular, this also means a complete switch of our free shipping option from DPD to DHL delivery.

As soon as new shipping options become available for your country, we’ll send out a dedicated info email.

February '26 Pre-Orders Are LIVE!

The February pre-orders just dropped. Over 600 products this time, and for all the Manga folks: we have re-added Yen Press books to our Manga preos (we have a new supplier, yay!). So make yourself comfortable and browse until... well, I guess your willpower gives up?!

OK, that's it for today.

Thank you for reading until the very end. You are definitely one of the good guys.

Cheers,
Walt
