Amethyst by Amy Reeder - YA Review

Hello parents, hello young readers, hello old people reading young adults' stuff (just like me), I am Bart & Lisa. Am I two people? No, but my mind embodies the soul of a teenager that behaves and lives in the spectrum between Bart and Lisa. So from now on, you'll get your young adults recommendations from me :)

"Amethyst" by Amy Reeder is the story of Amy Winston, who may be a simple teenage girl on planet Earth but is PRINCESS AMETHYST in the magical realm of Gemworld! It's her sweet 16th birthday, and Amy wants to celebrate it in Gemworld.

But when she visits, nothing is as it once was. Her people are gone, no one seems to care, no one seems to know what is happening, and no one wants to help, except for a very few people, meaning two people. One of whom is really super cool and chill and should be everyone's friend, but you should find out for yourself who I am talking about.

Amy is going on a journey. A journey of self-discovery, a journey of battles, and a journey of realizing that sometimes young girl YOU are the brat!

Most importantly, Amy is genuinely a teenager; she knows she might be wrong sometimes, and it takes some time for her to accept it. But Amy is learning. She is far from perfect, sometimes not very likable, but that is actually refreshing to read. She is quite human for a princess from a magical realm.

All in all, a lovely and enjoyable read, a fast one, for those of you who do not have a lot of time and also for those of you who like sparkly gems.
